Denim is anything but basic with the latest patchwork and embroidered adornments that Anthropologie’s Patchwork and Embroidered Denim is showcasing as one of their latest trends. Slight distressing, fading, unexpected pops of color, applique, and different types of patchwork and embroidery are all elevating the look of basic denim. I own a lot of Pilcro and AG jeans and now that I’ve seen the latest in patchwork and embroidery on other brands such as Levi’s 501’s, Mother, and Citizens of Humanity, I can’t wait to try these fantastic options on as well. Here are some of the latest that I have my eye on . . .
The Pilcro Script High-Rise High-Low skinny Jeans ($148) have an unexpected pop of color in the back. Paired with the Maeve Juni Silk Blouse ($118) and the Jeffery Campbell Mula Slides ($128) completes the look.
Speaking of heels, these denim frayed ones by Schutz ($188) would go with just about anything.
The Pilcro Hyphen Mid-Rise Boyfriend Jeans ($178) has that ever so slightly boyish fit with a lived-in look, and the applique makes it so versatile; you could so easily dress it up or down. (Shown with the Journey Bomber ($88) and the Novesta Linen Floral Sneakers ($88).)
The Citizens of Humanity Emerson Mid-Rise Slim Boyfriend Jean ($298) gives it a feminine touch with its floral embroidery. Loving the casualness with the Tied Striped Pullover ($88) and the Superga ‘Cotu’ Sneaker ($64.95).
Citizens of Humanity Cora Ultra High-Rise Crop Jeans ($278) lends a certain sophistication with the right top (similar here and here), and the deep red of the Schutz Tilan Ankle-Tie Heels ($178).
Another touch of embroidery that has me excited is the Citizens of Humanity Liya Ultra High-Rise Crop Jeans ($328). Love the pineapple and whimsy of these. (Shown with the Lennon Cutout Top ($48)
The Pilcro Hyphen Mid-Rise Boyfriend Jeans ($168) looks completely updated with its casual shibori patchwork detail. Love the suede booties (similar here) and the Mavin Fringed Pullover ($130) to complete the look.
Splatters of watercolor paint add fun unexpected pops of color to the Pilcro Hyphen Mid-Rise Shorts ($128).
Ever since I spied this Washed Denim Kimono ($298) on an Anthro Personal Stylist on Instagram, I’ve been coveting it like crazy. (Shown with similar hat) and Citizens of Humanity Parker Ultra High-Rise Cuff Jeans ($208)
From Anthroplogie’s Patchwork and Embroidered Denim, I’m in love with the Pilcro Hyphen Applique Mid-Rise Jeans ($178), they are so soft, but they do run big, so I would size down. What denim are you most excited about? Share your purchases in the comments below.
